Mission & Board Members

The Friends of the College-Rolando Library is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization. Our mission is to support the College-Rolando Branch of the San Diego Public Library by promoting the development of literate citizens, raising funds for increased acquisitions and community programs, and increasing public awareness of library resources.

Our Four Goals

Lifelong Learning

Champion reading and learning at every age — from baby storytime to senior programs.

Visibility

Raise awareness of everything the library offers, so every neighbor knows it’s theirs to use.

Community Hub

Help the branch thrive as a gathering place for the neighborhoods it serves.

Financial & Volunteer Support

Fund programs and materials beyond the city budget, powered by members and volunteers.

Board of Directors

The Friends are governed by a nine-member board serving two-year terms. The board meets five times a year, on Mondays at 5:30 pm at the library — and the public is always invited. Check the events calendar for the next meeting.
